KRUSH Distance Camp Registration is Now Open!
The Krush Program, a Centre County team of Cross Country High School coaches, professional athletes, and former collegiate athletes, is excited to announce its first overnight Distance Camp at YMCA Camp T. Frank Soles in the Laurel Highland Mountains. With an abundance of shaded pavilions, athletic fields, and easy access to the dozens of state game lands trails, the site provides an ideal environment for some great summertime training.
The camp will run from July 26 – 31, and athletes can register online or via mail. Campers will have the opportunity to learn about and practice training skills, technical drills, and racing tactics while receiving coaching from credible staff and guest speakers. Whether new to the sport or a veteran, there will be something for everyone to learn at Krush Distance Camp, which is primarily directed for the middle and high school age runners of all abilities.
Total cost for the camp is $595, and all application materials are due by June 30, 2015. The tuition includes all training, lectures, hand-outs, shirt, lodging, and all meals. In addition, all the normal camp activities (evening camp fires, swimming, canoeing, volleyball, basketball, tennis, wiffleball, etc) are included to get the full camp experience. We expect high interest in this camp, and registration is extremely limited, so encourage your athletes to register early.
The Krush Distance Camp mission is to equip athletes of all ability levels with the training tools and racing skills to KRUSH the competition when it matters most: during the Championship months of October and November, not a fitness test in July.
