Krush Speaker Series #1, Feb. 20
Topic: General workout strategy for runners who want to race.
There are lots of people who run 3 or 4 times a week for cardio but never race. The question always looms, “If you want to take it to the next level, what do you do?” The talk will focus on some general guidelines for beginners (i.e. people who want to try their first 5K) and a few more advanced things for people who want to run a specific kind of race, or to improve.
- Basic ideas of how to balance your regimen: how much running?
- How much speed or track work?
- How much and what kind of cross training / weights?
Of course, a lot of will depend on what race, what level you’re at, what you want to attain, etc. But starting with general principles is always helpful.
